I understand the themes, activities, and content that will be presented to my daughter throughout the Young Women’s Leadership Challenge (YWLC) program. I have reviewed the participation expectations and understand what is required of her as a program participant.
I understand that if my daughter does not meet the stated expectations and requirements, she may be removed from the program. I agree to support my daughter in fulfilling these responsibilities throughout her participation.
Participation Expectations:
Attending the YWLC summer conference with complete attendance
Take Action Challenge
Students must complete the TAC Plan and final presentation.
Mentorship
Students must initiate at least two meetings per semester with their assigned mentor.
Monthly Meetings - August-April
Students may miss no more than two monthly meetings unless otherwise approved.
Digital Participation & Communication
I understand that YWLC includes digital communication and virtual meetings. Program communication may occur through email, Remind, and Zoom. My daughter is expected to participate respectfully in all digital spaces. Full Zoom meetings may be recorded and shared only with current YWLC participants who miss a meeting. While The Pangea Network takes reasonable steps to maintain privacy and security, it cannot guarantee absolute security of digital platforms.
Media Release
I hereby grant The Pangea Network permission to use photographs, video recordings, audio recordings, and my daughter’s name for educational, promotional, marketing, training, and publicity purposes, including publication on The Pangea Network’s website, social media platforms, and printed materials. I understand that no compensation will be provided for such use and that materials will be used in an appropriate and responsible manner.
Assumption of Risk
I understand that participation in YWLC activities, whether conducted in person, including the summer conference and program-related events, or virtually, may involve inherent risks. These may include, but are not limited to, illness, injury, travel-related risks, or other unforeseen circumstances. I voluntarily assume these risks on behalf of my child.
Medical Emergency Authorization
In the event of a medical emergency, I authorize The Pangea Network and its representatives to seek appropriate medical treatment for my child if I cannot be reached. I understand that every reasonable effort will be made to contact me or the listed emergency contact. I acknowledge that I am financially responsible for any medical treatment provided to my child.
Liability Waiver
I hereby waive, release, and discharge The Pangea Network, its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, agents, and representatives from any and all claims, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses arising out of or related to my child’s participation in the Young Women’s Leadership Challenge (YWLC), whether such participation occurs in person, virtually, or in connection with program-related activities.
Indemnification
I agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Pangea Network from any claims arising out of my child’s participation in the program.
Program Fee & Refund Policy
YWLC program planning, staffing, and materials are finalized based on confirmed participant enrollment. If a participant withdraws from the program:
Cancellations made 30 days or more prior to the start of the YWLC summer conference are eligible for a full refund, minus any non-refundable processing fees.
Cancellations made 15-29 days prior to the start of the YWLC summer conference are eligible for a 50% refund.
Cancellations made fewer than 15 days prior to the start of the YWLC summer conference, or failure to attend the conference, are not eligible for a refund.
Exceptions may be made in cases of documented medical emergencies or extraordinary circumstances at the sole discretion of The Pangea Network.
Acknowledgment
By signing below, I acknowledge that I have read and understand this agreement and voluntarily consent to my child’s participation in the Young Women’s Leadership Challenge.
