  • The YWLC High School Internship is open to alumni of the program only.

    Are you looking for a meaningful internship with a non-profit organization? Are you passionate about women’s empowerment? Are you interested in human rights? Is community service your thing?

    The Pangea Network is looking for dedicated and passionate high school interns for its annual Young Women’s Leadership Challenge (YWLC) program. Intern tasks include attending training sessions for the YWLC conference, program management, event planning, fundraising, administrative tasks, and mentoring students.

    We are seeking high school interns to organize and facilitate the 2025 Young Women’s Leadership Challenge in-person 6-day conference. YWLC is a year-long program designed to empower high school girls in a holistic way. The program starts with an intensive leadership conference, led by interns, which will take place at Rice University, UT Austin, and Washington University. The conference is followed by ongoing mentorship, monthly online workshops, and the creation and execution of a community service project.

    *Note - This application requires a reference letter from a teacher, mentor, or coach.

  • The Pangea Network is looking for dedicated and passionate interns to lead its annual Young Women's Leadership Challenge (YWLC) program.

    When/What: mid-May through August; interns will dedicate up to 150 hours to work with a highly collaborative team in-person.

    Who: College students interested in social sciences, international affairs, non-profit management, and/or social entrepreneurship

    Where: Each of these cities will have 20 available intern positions:

    • Houston, TX
    • Austin, TX
    • St. Louis, MO

    About YWLC:

    YWLC is a year-long program designed to empower high school girls in a holistic way. Starting with an intensive summer leadership conference, powered by interns, we facilitate ongoing mentorship, monthly online meetings, and the creation and execution of a community service project. Topics you'll lead include:


    Intern Tasks:

    • Attend trainings for YWLC summer conference - you will be trained on how to administer and facilitate a leadership conference. You will learn and rehearse each session and activity of the conference

    • Program Management - learn how a non-profit organizes a leadership program from recruitment to fundraising to implementation

    • Event Planning - learn all the details that go into creating an exceptional experience for high school students

    • Administrative Tasks - organize conference supplies and be proactive with tasks pre, during, and post conference sessions

    We have internship opportunities in Houston, TX, Austin, TX, and St. Louis, MO

    In each city, you can apply for either the Conference Internship or the Summer Internship. All Intern Training sessions are mandatory. See schedule below:

    Summer Internship May - August

    As a Summer Intern, in addition to all conference responsibilities, you’ll work remotely on a report of the survey data collected from the conference. You’ll analyze the YWLC pre- and post-conference data to find insights, best practices, trends, and areas for improvement. This extension will take 5-6 hours per week, with findings to be reported to the Pangea team the week of September 1st, 2025.

    STIPEND

    Interns who successfully complete the internship will receive a $200 stipend.

    To be considered for the internship, please send your application in by April 18th, 2025.

Meet Mathew Ogal, our November Student of the Mont Meet Mathew Ogal, our November Student of the Month, a young man whose journey is defined by perseverance, compassion, and purpose.

Born in Homabay County and now completing his final year at the Kenya Medical Training College in Kisumu, Mathew’s passion for Community Health Nursing drives him to serve people where they need it most. His dream is to lead outreach programs that help communities prevent disease and live healthier lives.

Before joining The Pangea Network, Mathew was focused solely on academics. But through mentorship and leadership training, he learned how to balance life, find confidence, and lead with heart. Today, he’s not only finishing his studies, he’s inspiring others along the way.

Mathew’s calm strength, resilience, and dedication to service are a reflection of the change Pangea seeks to create… empowered individuals transforming their communities from within. 💛
