What have you been up to since YWLC?
After graduating from YWLC, I continued my service work by creating a Global Affairs club at my high school and I remained involved with Pangea through internships, in which I assisted in the coordination of future YWLC years and gala planning. Following high school, I started my undergrad at the McCombs School of Business at UT, majoring in Management Information Systems with a minor in Accounting and American Studies. Now I’m currently working in Global Operations at Facebook and I am a practicing real estate agent on the side! I don’t think I would be where I am today without the leadership and social entrepreneurship skills I learned through YWLC, which encouraged me to push my boundaries and explore career paths in which women are in the minority. For instance, one of the reasons I entered into Real Estate is that the number of female property investors is less than half of that of men. I want to work towards creating a seamless experience so the home buying process is less intimidating and accessible to a wider audience! Five years from now, I hope to continue to push myself out of my comfort zone and take on new career challenges and endeavors.
